Shawn Martin is a PhD candidate in Economics and Public Policy and is on the job market in 2021-2022. Her job market paper studies the early career job changing behavior and earnings growth of college graduates, with a particular focus on contrasting graduates with general and specific majors. She is a fellow in the Predoctoral Training Program in Causal Inference in Education Policy Research. She graduated from the University of California – San Diego with a B.S. in Economics and from Georgetown University with a M.S. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics. While in D.C., she was a research assistant at SRI International and at the Comptroller of the Currency. Prior to Georgetown University, Shawn worked as a classroom teacher, curriculum developer and teacher training instructor through a two-year fellowship with Teach for China.
