Stacey Brockman

Researcher at Mathematica

Stacey Brockman is a Researcher in the Human Services Division at Mathematica. She uses rigorous quantitative methods to conduct partner-engaged research that informs the implementation of educational programs and policies. Her research focuses on reducing inequities in college and career readiness, supporting students’ social-emotional learning, and teacher education and development, with a particular focus on improving teacher preparation and teaching quality in schools that serve historically marginalized students. Stacey is a research affiliate at the Youth Policy Lab and the Education Policy Initiative.

Stacey earned a Ph.D. in educational studies from the University of Michigan in 2021 where she was a fellow in the causal inference in education policy research IES predoctoral training program. Stacey earned both a bachelor of science and master of science in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, and a master of arts in education from Stanford University. For seven years prior to graduate school Stacey taught social studies and mentored student teachers as a history teacher, and led academic interventions as an Intervention Specialist at a high school in the San Francisco Bay Area.
